Notes: Just a little drabble about Iroh and Zuko and Zuko's hair.

Iroh had been the one to shave Zuko's head. Between the fire and physicians he had lost much of his hair; it was kinder to shave it. Zuko kept the ponytail as a reminder of honour; to Iroh it was hope the gentle boy he loved was still there.

Iroh looked after Zuko's toilette daily, shaving his scalp, oiling his hair and tying it securely in a pony tail; it was a loving chore filled with companionable silence. Iroh neither asked why this was his task nor commented on the absence of mirrors in the Prince's quarters.
